This Year's Theme: Let's Get the World Talking
Every Acquaint conversation starts small: two people who haven't met before, choosing to be present with each other and really listen. Sometimes they're on opposite sides of the world, and sometimes they live in the same country. Either way, what matters is showing up for someone new.
This year, we're asking every volunteer to help those conversations multiply. Make time for a few extra sessions, try the Acquaint Week activities below, and invite friends to sign up as Acquaint volunteers so they can start conversations of their own.
Acquaint Week celebrates our global community of volunteers in more than 110 countries and our shared commitment to practicing and promoting human connection. This week, let's show what happens when the whole world joins in.
How to Get Involved During Acquaint Week 2026
Whether you have a few minutes or a few hours, there's a way for everyone to help get the world talking:
- Do Sessions: Add extra availability and help set a new record for conversations completed during Acquaint Week.
- Complete Acquaint Missions: Choose a short, real-world mission to practice connection beyond the screen and share your reflection afterward. Try one of our three new missions!
- Take Communication Training Courses: Earn badges while strengthening skills that make every conversation more authentic and rewarding.
- Refer a Friend: Invite friends to sign up as Acquaint volunteers using your referral link.
- Share Your Certificates or Badges to Spread the Word: Post the badges and certificates you've earned so friends, classmates, and colleagues can see what Acquaint is about.
- Join Get-Togethers: Celebrate with fellow volunteers in global online meetups and community gatherings.
- Donate: Support Acquaint's mission if you can't volunteer this week. Your contribution still fuels connection worldwide.

Do Sessions!
The simplest way to get the world talking is to talk! Add at least one extra session this week. Update your maximum number of sessions and check your available times. Completing a session during Acquaint Week 2026 earns you the exclusive "Acquaint Week 2026 Session Connector" badge.
Complete Acquaint Missions
Take the conversation beyond the screen by completing an Acquaint Mission during Acquaint Week 2026! Missions are short, real-world actions that help you practice human connection with purpose, like starting a meaningful conversation, reaching out to someone, or reflecting on your communication habits.
Complete any mission this week and earn the exclusive "Acquaint Week 2026 Missions Rockstar" badge.

New This Year: Three New Missions
We're launching three new missions for Acquaint Week 2026. Each one is a simple way to invite someone into a conversation, and any of them earns you the Missions Rockstar badge.
Ask Someone for Help
Ask someone for help with something small, like advice, a recommendation, or being shown how to do something. Most people feel good about being asked.

Watch Something Together
Invite someone outside your usual routine to watch a match, show, or film you were already planning to watch. Save about 10 minutes before or after to talk.

Go for a Walk With Someone
Invite someone you don't usually walk with for a walk, a roll, or some time sitting outside together, with your phones put away.
About 30 minutes · In person

Our short, skill-focused microcourses make it easy to learn techniques you can use in every conversation. Finish one during Acquaint Week 2026 to unlock the "Acquaint Week 2026 Course Completion" badge.

Refer a Friend (or Foe!)
The world can't start talking without new voices. Use your unique referral link from your Impact Page to invite new volunteers. When someone you refer during Acquaint Week completes their welcome sessions, you'll earn the challenging "Acquaint Week 2026 Referral Champion" badge.
Share Your Certificates and Badges to Spread the Word!
Every badge and certificate you've earned is a conversation starter. Share them on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, or wherever your people are, and tell them what you did to earn it. Tag @Acquaint and use #AcquaintWeek2026 so we can celebrate with you.
Your badges and certificates appear automatically on your Impact Page. Earned a Volunteer Hours certificate or completed a course in the past? Those count too. Share them this week to help someone else discover Acquaint.
Join a Get-Together!
Meet volunteers from around the world at our interactive Zoom get-togethers during Acquaint Week. Celebrate milestones, share reflections, and enjoy group activities that bring our mission to life.
We're hosting three get-togethers, and you're welcome to join whichever one you like. We've labeled each with the regions where it falls at a comfortable hour, just so no one accidentally signs up for one in the middle of their night. The signup page will show you the date and time in your own time zone. Spots are limited, so reserve yours early!

Badge Rules
To unlock your 2026 badges, follow these simple rules:
General Rules:
- All sessions, missions, referrals, and courses must be completed between October 18th – October 24th, 2026.
- Referral badges are awarded once your referral completes their welcome sessions, which may take a few weeks.
- Badges appear automatically on your Impact Page.
How to Earn the Referral Badge:
- Copy your referral link from your Impact Page.
- Share it widely with friends, classmates, colleagues, or even friendly rivals!
- Encourage them to sign up during Acquaint Week and complete their welcome sessions.
- Once they do, your "Referral Champion" badge will appear automatically.
