Join our webinar to discover how small, positive actions can build real human connection—in your workplace, your neighborhood, and beyond.
Idealist Days is a global movement encouraging local, positive actions on dates where the month and day match—1/1, 2/2, 3/3, and so on throughout the year. Hosted by Idealist, these events bring together thousands of people worldwide to take action in whatever way they can—whether that's volunteering, organizing a walk, hosting a conversation, or simply showing up for the people around you.
The idea is simple: everyone has the power to create positive change through everyday actions. Participants share their stories, videos, reflections, and photos to inspire others—and organizations like Acquaint offer specific activities you can join.

Acquaint Missions are small, meaningful challenges to practice and promote human connection with the people already around you. They come in two flavors:
Pick a challenge, complete it on your own time, then reflect on what happened. You'll get personalized feedback from our team.
Recruit a team and tackle a mission together. Group missions follow three phases:
Invite your team, pick a mission, and get started together.
Journal about your experience, share insights, and learn from each other.
Receive a shareable impact report celebrating what your group accomplished.
Acquaint is a volunteer-led platform dedicated to practicing and promoting human connection. Our community spans 110+ countries and connects people through live audio conversations, neighborhood walks, and missions—small challenges that turn everyday moments into opportunities for meaningful interaction.
We believe that connection is a cause worth championing, and that small, intentional actions can transform communities from the inside out.

Here are a few missions you can try after signing up.
Reconnect with someone you haven't spoken to in a while. Send a message, make a call, or schedule a chat. Let them know you were thinking of them—you don't need a special reason.

Go for a walk in your neighborhood and find one thing that represents connection or community to you — a gathering spot, a garden someone tends, a bench where people sit, a mural, a busy market. Take a photo of it and share it in the group chat with a few sentences about what you found and why it matters to you. Then reply to at least one other person's post with what resonated with you.

Invite someone to share a meal with you. It could be one person, a few friends, or a whole party. Cook for them, cook together, or go out to a restaurant. The point is to be the one who brings people to the table. We'd love to see photos!
Pick a mission, take action, and see what happens. The change starts with you.
