What to expect on your walk

An Acquaint Walk is a relaxed, ~30-minute walk with neighbors in a local park. Here's how the day works so your first one feels easy.

  1. 1

    Arrive during the gathering window

Each walk starts with a short gathering window — give yourself a few minutes on either side. It's fine to be a little early; that's when people find each other and say hello before setting off together.

  2. 2

    Head to the meeting place

The app shows your park's meeting place — the specific spot where the group gathers (a trailhead, a sign, a bench). Open the walk in the app for directions, and the live map will show you the way once gathering opens.

  3. 3

Use the chat to find everyone

The in-app chat opens 30 minutes before the walk — no need to check in first. It's the easiest way to say "I'm on my way," ask where to meet, or spot the group. We keep an eye on it, so you can reach us there in real time. We really recommend using it.

  4. 4

    Walk, and enjoy the company

The walk itself is easy and unhurried — about 30 minutes at a comfortable pace, on public paths. Come as you are, bring water if it's warm, and feel free to bring a buddy. There's nothing to prepare; the whole point is just to be present with people.

Can't find the group?

Two quick ways to get unstuck:

  • Call or text us: 360-797-5214
  • Ask in the chat built into the app — we're watching it around walk time.
